As part of our collaborative efforts with the Center for Children's Advocacy and the Children's Law Center, CAHS has helped to develop the website, Kids Counsel. The site is a resource for lawyers and legal advocates and is dedicated to improving the quality of legal representation for children. It contains a wealth of information on legal issues facing Connecticut children and families, including

  • recent and pending Connecticut state and federal cases affecting children
  • placement and professional resources for children
  • a pleadings bank for use by lawyers
  • information on training opportunities for attorneys and legal advocates
  • related web links

The Center for Children's Advocacy, Inc. is a non-profit organization located at the University of Connecticut School of Law which services the legal needs of poor children.  The Children's Law Center is a non-profit organization which provides legal representation for children in northeastern Connecticut, using a lawyer/mental health team approach.
