Membership Opportunities

CAHS has a diverse membership of private citizens, religious and labor leaders, corporate executives, human services professionals and state and local policy makers - all of whom help to ensure our independent course. Our membership also includes some of the state's most influential corporations and financial institutions, as well as broad representation of direct service providers.

Use our online membership information to join us as an Individual Membership, Organizational Membership or Corporate Membership:

Individual Membership. Our membership is the backbone of our organization. Starting at only $35, you can join hundreds of other individuals in our efforts to improve the quality of life for Connecticut residents.

Organizational Membership. CAHS is a unique organization in that brings together Connecticut's diverse, yet interrelated human services community -- including nonprofits, state and municipal agencies, private sector organizations, unions, and concerned citizens -- the people and groups addressing the gamut of human needs in our state.

By joining in a collaborative partnership with CAHS, you can help give human services a strong voice in Connecticut, making your organization's job easier and helping to make sure that people in need receive the services they require to lead healthy, productive lives.

When you join CAHS as an organizational member, you'll receive the following benefits:

  • Community Connections, the CAHS member newsletter, providing up-to-date information on the activities of CAHS and its members;

  • use of the CAHS mailing list;
  • the ability to nominate noteworthy individuals for our annual Human Services Award;
  • the CAHS Legislative Agenda;
  • periodic CAHS legislative alerts on crucial topics that affect your organization and the human services field.

Corporate Membership. Join more than 60 leading businesses that have made an investment in the state's future through CAHS. CAHS has developed a solid track record as a good business investment by putting our dollars to work on projects which make both immediate and long-term sense.

Thousands of productive people now need help from the state's human services system for the first time in their lives. The Connecticut Association for Human Services helps to make this overburdened system work. In the current economic climate, the corporate community needs to channel its support where it will have the most impact.

What makes CAHS unique? As an independent nonprofit organization, we find cost-effective solutions to critical social problems by taking an integrated approach to such issues as hunger, family health, child care and early education. We develop strategies designed to make government work better by cutting red tape and streamlining the delivery of services which meet real needs. We take a lead in advancing workable, preventive programs as more efficient and responsible than crisis-induced solutions to state problems. For our achievements, CAHS received national recognition under the Award for Innovation Program of the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management.
