The CT Money School (CMS) has provided free financial workshops for adults and seniors in Connecticut since 2009. To date, over 3,500 people have attended our workshops at over 75 sites statewide. Connecticut Money School is easily accessible in locations such as libraries, community centers and other community-based organizations throughout Hartford, New Haven and Fairfield counties. Workshops can be offered in Spanish and several other languages.
The Youth Money School (YMS) offers free financial education for teens and young adults between the ages of 14-24. Our program teaches young people the skills to manage money, including workshops on budgeting, credit, and paying for college.
Financial Coaching is an asset building strategy designed to develop a client's capability to manage their own finances and sustain economic security.
In partnership with the IRS and local community organizations, CAHS coordinates an annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) campaign across Fairfield, New Haven, New London, Middlesex, and Litchfield Counties. A national program, VITA provides free tax preparation services to low-to-moderate-income individuals and families earning less than $53,930 a year.
