Support CAHS

There are several ways in which you can support CAHS and our efforts.

Become a Member: use our online membership information to join us as an Individual Member, Organizational Member or Corporate Member.

Donate Connecticut Association for Human Services is a not-for-profit organization that promotes public policy solutions and brings resources to bear to strengthen need children, families, and communities through education, outreach, advocacy, research, and evaluation. A key strength of CAHS is our ability to work in coalition with others. We bring together diverse interests - concerned citizens, policy makers, human service providers, corporate leaders, labor leaders, academics, state and municipal organizations, and religious organizations - to help ensure that all state residents have the opportunity to lead healthy, productive lives.

Advocate: Public policy advocacy involves speaking out in favor of and garnering support for particular positions concerning specific public policies. By joining in a collaborative partnership with CAHS, you can help give human services a strong voice in Connecticut, making your organization's job easier and helping to make sure that people in need receive the services they require to lead healthy, productive lives.

Purchase: Our online store has all CAHS publications in print, as well as KidPins, our adorable pins! See for yourself! No two are alike. KidPins™ are decorative, ceramic, lapel pin figures of kids in a variety of colors and "personalities". Each KidPin™ comes with a story drawn from real life. You will receive a pin that represents a baby, toddler, child, teen, or pregnant teen.
KidPins™ represent children at risk - children living in Connecticut, perhaps in your neighborhood. Everyone of us is affected by the plight of these children. By purchasing a KidPin™ you support the work of the Campaign for Connecticut’s Children, a program of the Connecticut Association for Human Services. KidPins are available for $12.

Clubs and Service Groups: The support of community clubs throughout Connecticut is greatly needed and appreciated. We will be proud to present a talk and program at one of your meetings. Please contact CAHS at (860) 951-2212.

Volunteer: There are many volunteer and internship opportunities at CAHS which will allow you to learn more about important issues while helping to improve the quality of life for Connecticut residents. Volunteers often provide assistance with a variety of office work, research, and advocacy.

Undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Connecticut Storrs campus, UCONN School of Social Work, the UCONN School of Public Health, UCONN Dept of Nutritional Sciences, Saint Joseph's College, Trinity College, Princeton University, and Yale University have joined CAHS as interns in recent years. Interns can gain experience and skills in such areas as policy analysis, research, public education, advocacy, lobbying, media relations, grant writing and development. They may work on diverse issues, including health, child care and early education, hunger and nutrition, and welfare.
If you are interested in exploring internship or volunteer opportunities, please call us at (860) 951-2212.
