Staffed by IRS certified volunteers across Connecticut, Virtual VITA can help you obtain the federal and state benefits that you are entitled to! What to prepare when filing your taxes with VITA:

  • Valid photo ID
  • Identity theft PIN # if applicable
  • Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification (ITIN) for you, your spouse, and any dependents living with you
  • Birth dates for you, your spouse, and dependents
  • Documentation for all income from work, Social Security or pensions, including forms W-2, 1099-R, etc.
  • Documentation for any deductible education expenses and student loan payments from the previous year
  • Interest and dividend statements from banks or other financial institutions, if any (Forms 1099)
  • Healthy CT Access Form 1095-A
  • Health insurance forms 1095-B or 1095-C
  • Total $ paid for child care in previous tax year, bring day care provider's address and tax ID #
  • Copies of last year's Federal and State income tax returns, if available
  • Checking and/or savings account numbers if you want to have your refund direct deposited
